I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, and my good wishes go with you for a very happy and successful new year.

January is a time for reminders-:

Subs.

Subs are now due and we would appreciate a prompt payment because we value your membership.

Summer School.

This is a wonderful opportunity to learn from the professionals, and to help with the cost, which includes full board, I have 4 x £200 Bursaries to give away this year. So, please let me have your applications before 31st January 2006.

North West AGM & Awards.

The Venue is still the same. "The De Vere Hotel", Blackpool, and is on the first Bank Holiday in May as usual. And the date for your diary, is 30th April - 1st May 2006. but the advice is still the same 'Book Early'

Programmes.

I was delighted to receive the trophy on behalf of Lees Street CCAM & DS on winning the trophy for the best programme in the Basic Class at the National Conference in Huntingdon. Many, many congratulations to them.
If you want your programme to be entered into this competition, do let your Rep know when he or she visits your show and they will collect 4 copies from you.

Youth Training.

The North West Area of NODA is to organise a one day workshop for young people between the ages of 13 and 18 years of age.

Each workshop will have three professional tutors, drawn from the current Summer School tutors and consist of three sessions, each tutor teaching to a maximum of 25 students, meaning a maximum of 75 students for the day, and will cover-: Drama (stage & voice) Singing and Movement (including deportment)

The course is FREE, but a deposit of £15 is required which will be refunded to the student on the day.

The date we are looking at is:- Saturday 19th August 2006 and will be held at the Theatre Church Room in Bolton.

Once again I should like to thank all the societies who invited my Wife & me to your productions; some new, some old, but always very enjoyable. We look forward to meeting many more of you in 2006, and we both wish you every success for your forthcoming productions.

 

REPORTS

Individual society reports are published in the current issue of the magazine which is on sale at £3.00 per copy (p+p included). All society secretaries receive one copy of the magazine and many make the magazine available for inspection by society members. However, if you would like your own personal copy, for a subscription of £9.00 per annum you will receive the Spring Summer and Winter editions.
